Strymon BigSky - product description

Multidimensional reverb effects pedal that creates a reverb experience which is natural, beautiful, and immersive. It utilizes a ridiculously powerful DSP with 366MHz SIMD SHARC processor core, capable of 2.4 Gigaflop peak performance. It offers hand crafted, studio-class reverb algorithms that deliver lush, gorgeous and musically inspiring reverb experiences, and provides twelve modulation machines, each with extensive control over sonic character and feel: Room, Hall, Plate, Spring, Swell, Bloom, Cloud, Chorale, Shimmer, Magneto, Nonlinear, Reflections. The sound can be adjusted with seven front-panel tone shaping knobs: Decay, Pre-Delay, Mix, Tone, Mod, Param 1, Param 2 (Param knobs assignable per preset); +/-3 dB Boost/Cut (saveable as preset); plus additional menu-driven parameters that allow for easy customization of reverb sounds. The pedal further offers 300 easily accessible and nameable presets; press-and-hold Infinite Sustain and Freeze functions (saveable per preset); Spillover and Reverb Persist modes (saveable per preset) or selectable Speaker Cabinet emulation for direct-to-PA gigs or recording applications. It also provides full MIDI implementation that allows extended control for users with more complex rigs, three rugged metal footswitches for preset selection and effect bypass; LED display for preset info, reverb decay time, and extended parameter control; and multi-colour preset LEDs (green for active preset, amber for edited preset). The pedal is equipped with ultra low noise, high performance 24-bit 96kHz A/D and D/A converters, an analogue dry path for a zero latency dry signal that is never converted to digital, and premium analogue front end and output section. The pedal provides stereo input and output, MIDI input and output, and an expression pedal input with selectable control over knob or combination of knobs, saveable per preset (also configurable as external tap input). The +8dBu maximum input level easily handles instrument and line signals. The pedal is a true bypass (electromechanical relay switching) but also offers high quality, transparent Analog Buffered Bypass mode. It is powered with a standard 9V centre negative DC supply, 300mA minimum required (included), and features strong and lightweight light blue anodized aluminium chassis with laser-etched artwork and durable black anodized aluminium knobs. Typical S/N ratio: 115 dB at 50% wet mix (120 dB at 100% dry mix, 109 dB at 100% wet mix). Frequency response: 20 Hz-20 kHz. Dimensions: 171 x 130 mm.
