The very dark, fine-grained wood, combined with the straight shape of the instrument, creates a classy, elegant look. In addition, walnut wood has excellent tonal qualities with subtle basses, powerful mids and clear highs. The notes of the Sela Kalimba 21 are all on the C major scale and range from the note F3 to E6. Sela Kalimbas with 21 reeds therefore range four notes lower than models with 17 reeds. Since all the notes here also fit together harmonically, even beginners can compose exciting melodies with this instrument in no time at all and accompany or play along with songs written in C major. Due to the higher number of reeds, the playing possibilities are even somewhat greater than with the 17-reed Kalimbas. Included with the Kalimba is a high-quality case with carrying strap and fitted padding that effectively protects the instrument from damage during storage and transport.
