The Muff masters at Wren and Cuff have crafted the definitive version of the non-transistorized fuzzbox. They call it the Eye See ‘78. Apart from the lack of transistors, the Eye See ‘78 features a drastically different clipping section for a monstrously woolly sound, such as the one popularized by Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins on Siamese Dream. As expected, the sound of the Eye See ‘78 is different from a standard Muff circuit. While most vintage muffs are a little “sweeter” sounding, the Eye See ‘78 is certainly crunchier and more ballsy than a standard Muff.In 1978, a switch was added to the back of the original, and the Eye See ‘78 includes this switch as well. The control is labeled as “Tone Bypass” on both old and new pedals. Essentially, it removes the passive tone stack from the circuit for a volume boost and a significantly more raw and open sound. Of course, this switch renders the tone control useless, but we’re guessing that in this mode, you won’t miss it—this switch is just too cool. If you’re looking for a largely-untamed IC-based fuzz and distortion machine, with the ability to adapt to most genres of music under the sun, look no further than the Eye See ‘78 Other Wren and Cuff Eye See ‘78 Features: Authentic recreation of the 1978 IC Big Muff® Tone Bypass switch Smaller Footprint than the original USB: No Controls: Volume;Tone;Distortion UK/EU Power supply included: No Battery Operation: Yes True Bypass: Yes Made in: USA Height (mm): 40.0 Power Supply: Battery;Adapter;9V Inputs: Jack 6,3 mm TS Number of Buttons: 1 Outputs: Jack 6,3 mm TS Depth (mm): 121.0 Width (mm): 65.0 Colour: White Type: Fuzz Battery Type: 9V Package Contents: Manual Weight (g): 284.0

The Wren and Cuff Tri Pie 70′ is version of the famous Muff “triangle knob” fuzz from around 1970. What they’ve done is made whatthey consider the best sounding tri-knob replication you can find.Compared to the modern-day BM, the Tri Pie 70′ has less saturation, a bit less mid-scoop, and
This is a bold, rich, fuzz with a very clear octave-up, especially once the player goes beyond the 12th fret.A much different pedal than the Tycobrahe Octavia or Univox Superfuzz, this pedal has a tone that is unique among octave fuzzers. The “Tone” toggle switch provides the option of a more
Wren and Cuff Super Russian combines a Muff section and a transparent germanium buffered boost section in an extremely versatile effects pedal. The Muff side is basically a Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian fuzz (a precise recreation of the first green Tall Font Muff pedals built in Russia) with some
The Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian pedal is a contemporary version of the legendary Tall Font Russian Muffs. This was the 2nd Muff variant in large green case with the typical label. Its sound is similar to the previous model, 'Civil War', the tone is more aggressive and more fuzzy than its
Wren and Cuff took the best of four different Ram’s head circuits (yes there were four!) to create a girthy distortion monster that will plaster a smile on your face every time you plug it in. | Yes the enclosure is a phenomenal recreation of the original units, but none of that matters if the
PP strives to resolve many of the common quandaries bassists come across in their search for a fuzz that really works for their instrument and their playing situation. Helps give the feel of running two amps, one wet, one dry for those of us who can’t afford two SVT’s, and/or can’t lug two
The Box of War is a true recreation of the famous “Civil War” fuzz pedals from the 90’s. They say “true recreation” because they pride ourselves on truly digging into the vintage units they recreate and go to great lengths to duplicate all aspects of the original circuits to the best of
Wren and Cuff has always been known for vintage Muff recreations, and when the full size original Caprid hit the scene in 2012 it was an instant hit, getting rave reviews from magazines, pro players, and the pedal community at large. The pedal was then placed on hiatus in 2017 due to the

Wren and Cuff takes two hand-matched BC108 silicon transistors selected for specific gains, super-quiet metal film resistors, and add smoothing capacitors to tame spiky highs and eliminate squealing at higher volumes, and that's only the start.Don't like the low output on a traditional FF? Fixed

It is the same pedal as the full size Box of War, originally housed in a large folded steel enclosure, modified to be able to fit in a standard 125 size enclosure. That's it! Same parts, same guts, smaller size. | The Box of War is a true recreation of the famous “Civil War” fuzz pedals from the
After many, many, requests, they have finally made a 'Small Foot' version of this fat monster tone machine. For practical reasons, they of course had to sacrifice some of the neat features of the first Caprid, in order to fit the circuit into the pedal-board friendly 125-style box of the Small
For this custom pedal Tall Font Russian, no mods needed, with a foot-switch that adds an extra gain stage when things need to go, “To eleven”, in the words of Nigel Tufnel. The added gain stage can be used independently, for a slightly gritty clean-boost, or used to smash the Tall Font Side
After many, many, requests for a USA release of this unusual pedal, the USA White Elk is finally here. This pedal is a recreation of the famous 'Elk Super Fuzz Sustainar' (thats not a typo, thats how they spelled it!) pedals from the 1970's. These pedals were very cheap Big Muff 'Triangle' copies
Don't like the low output on a traditional FF? Fixed it. All the volume you could ever want or need.Don't like the way that a traditional FF fuzz knob is only useful at the last end of the knob? They've added a reverse-log potentiometer that widens that range and let's you dial things in just
A part-by-part recreation of J’s number one Muff since 1987, this is not just any 70’s EHX Ram’s Head. J’s pedal is an odd bird with parts values that are “incorrect” and component values that have drifted far from their original values during its near-50 year journey. On the other side
The Wren and Cuff The Good One is a 100% reverse-engineered replica of a particularly amazing vintage 1972 Muff pedal, that came into the Wren and Cuff shop for repair. The 'Triangle Knob' era Muffs have been known to have up to 18 different circuits within the same enclosure-style during
Matthew Holl (owner of Wren and Cuff) has had a working relationship with Dinosaur Jr’s J Mascis for many years now. After years of working together, Matthew approached J with the idea of doing a signature pedal based on J’s favorite vintage Muff pedal. That pedal, an early 70’s “Ram’s
The Gold comp really is a truly special pedal. A year and a half of experimenting, tweaking, redesigning, and testing has resulted in a pedal worthy of the Wren and Cuff name. Two hand-tested vintage germanium transistors in the box provide a natural warmth and super smooth clipping that has to be

This booster is made specifically for the bass guitar. It was designed to accommodate tunings down to a five string’s typical low B and can be used for even lower tunings. This booster was not made to be “transparent”. It’s not a JFET or MOSFET based booster. There are many fine boosters out
This pedal can go from super compressed, tight, smooth distortion, to a snarling buzz-saw monster that brings out every pick-to-string strike you throw at it. Surprisingly though, one trait it does not possess is the extreme scoop to the mids many associate with “Heavy Metal.” One of the
