These assumptions are confirmed by the focal length range of 29-216mm (35mm film), by its sharpness supported by the 4-stop Image Stabiliser and by the minimum focus distance of 39cm. The Nano USM is the innovation providing fast autofocus for capturing both photographs and videos. The lens uses a Canon UD element which suppresses the influence of secondary chromatic aberrations. The Super Spectra coating minimises ghosting and flare. This is particularly important for maintaining true colour balance and sharp images. For its production, the eco-friendly lead-free glass was used.
